AMANDA MCCARTHY is a storyteller compelled to speak the truth.

With her heart on her sleeve and her priorities in check, she strives to convey a message of authenticity through her music. That’s not something she takes lightly – those words proved their worth when she said “no thank you” to an interested record label in Nashville whose visions did not align with her personal values.

She doesn’t fit in a box and she doesn’t like rules. Blending many influences, her original music is the infusion of pop/country and alternative rock, sprinkled with millennial snark and the heart of an old soul.

Her cover song choices pull from all over the timeline – from Green Day to Johnny Cash – Ed Sheeran to AC/DC – Jewel to Lady Gaga – and everything in between. Fun and thoughtful mash-ups are a fan favorite.

Along with the above mentioned label, who was particularly interested in her now independently-released single “San Diego” – Amanda’s original music has been recognized by the Grammy Awards’ Nomination Ballot (“Elephant in the Room” and “Bad News” in 2016) – New England Music Awards (2019 Songwriter of the Year) – UK Songwriting Contest (2019 Semi-Finalist in three categories) – Cornell University (2017 Emerging Artist Series Winner) – Nashville’s Josie Music Awards (Artist Nominations and Song Nominations for “Secret Love” and “Christmas Without You”) – NYC’s Coffee Music Project (2018 finalist for “Somewhere In Syracuse”) – Royal Caribbean Cruises, and New England based award shows for the New England Music Awards, Worcester Music Awards, Limelight Music Magazine and the Southern New England Music Expo.

Radio has been supportive as well, independent and mainstream stations alike, with Boston airplay on THE RIVER 102.5, THE BULL 101.7, WKLB 102.5, WATD 105.9, FRANK 106.3, NORTH SHORE 104.9, college radio and many others. Recently, “San Diego” hit #1 on SheWolfRadio, and a few years back, her very first single “Sticks and Stones” hit #1 on ipmNation Radio.

Her early years included a huge focus on anti-bullying philanthropic work with “Sticks and Stones” (included in a nationwide anti-bullying documentary still being showcased today) and “I Don’t Deserve It.” (Her first cut by another band.) Her philanthropic efforts have since shifted to sexual assault and abusive relationship awareness through songs like “Fusion” and “A Bridge Better Burned.”

She’s had the opportunity to perform many of these songs as an opening act, support act or side-stage act for Hunter Hayes, Steven Tyler (of Aerosmith), Train, REO Speedwagon, Rob Thomas, Jason Isbell, Natasha Bedingfield, Frank Turner, Jason Lancaster (of Mayday Parade), Hawthorne Heights, Abby Anderson, NASCAR and more.

Amanda is currently based in Southern NH/Northern MA, performing regularly all over New England both solo and with her band, branching out nationally and internationally when possible. She released her debut full-length album, “Road Trip” in 2019.
