This year has certainly been a difficult and trying one for all of us. Many of us have lost friends and family to COVID and my heart goes out to you all. We have done our best to navigate this golf season with the health and safety of our members, guests and staff as our number one priority. Golf was indeed one of the bright spots, allowing us the opportunity to get outside and safely socialize. These were key factors in the upsurge in rounds played. We saw a large increase in outside play this year that bodes well for the future of BCC.

While there were many positives from this past golf season, we continue to operate with a very lean budget that has us looking at ways to contain costs while continuing to improve the quality of the golf course. We do most of the work in house rather than hiring outside contractors but the reality is that there is a laundry list of capitol improvement projects that I inherited with the golf course that continues to grow. These projects all come with price tags ranging in the 5 to 6 figure range and we will continue to work through them as time and money allow. We have begun work on the bunkers, but with over 100 on the course, this will be a multi-year project.

I am happy to announce that our superintendent Jesse and his wife Meghan welcomed their daughter Penelope Eve Sutton into this world on November 21, 2020. We wish them all the best as they adjust to this new addition!!
In closing, I want to thank you all for your support at BCC. Many of you have been members here for decades and your kind words mean so much. Unfortunately, we will not be able to have an end of the year party as we have the past 2 years. This was a great way for me to touch base with many of you that I don’t see on a regular basis. Please email me if you have thoughts or ideas for growing the game of golf at BCC.
